You & Yours — Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

You & Yours ("You & Yours", "we", "us") is a personal relationship and self-reflection companion app operated by [LEGAL ENTITY]. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and You & Yours that governs your use of the You & Yours mobile app and related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time (see Section 15). The version in force is the one published in the app and at our website at the time you use the Service.

2. Who can use You & Yours

3. What You & Yours is — and what it is not

You & Yours is a tool to help you reflect, remember, communicate, and show up for yourself and the people you care about. It offers journaling, mood tracking, reminders, memories, goals, profiles and notes about the people in your life (a partner, children, family), optional health and wellbeing tracking for yourself or shared with a partner, reflections on past relationships and big future topics, and AI-assisted suggestions and conversations.

You & Yours is not a substitute for professional help. In particular:

The AI can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. It generates suggestions, not facts or professional guidance. Always use your own judgement, and seek a qualified professional for medical, legal, financial, safety, or serious relationship matters. You are responsible for any decisions you make.

4. Your content and your privacy

Our full data practices — what we collect, why, who processes it, how long we keep it, and your rights (including your GDPR rights where they apply) — are set out in the Privacy Policy.

5. Notes about other people

You & Yours lets you keep private notes and details about people in your life, such as a partner, your children, or family members. When you do this:

About your children specifically. Profiles you keep about your kids — including "Just between you" private notes — are part of your record: You & Yours collects this information from you, never from children directly, and children are not users of the Service (see Section 2). "Just between you" child notes are additionally restricted so a linked partner can never see them, even on a shared child profile. Health and wellbeing items you record for yourself, a partner, or the two of you are treated the same way: yours, private by default, and shared only by your explicit action.

6. Connecting with a partner

7. Subscriptions and payment (You & Yours Plus)

Some features may in future require a paid subscription ("You & Yours Plus").

8. Acceptable use

Please don't:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules (see Section 12).

9. AI usage limits

To keep the Service sustainable and prevent abuse, AI features are subject to reasonable usage limits (for example a daily number of AI messages). We may adjust these limits and, where relevant, distinguish free and paid tiers. We'll try to make limits generous enough for genuine personal use.

10. Our intellectual property

The Service itself — the app, its design, branding, and software (but not Your Content) — belongs to You & Yours and its licensors and is protected by intellectual- property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. "You & Yours" and its logo are our marks; please don't use them without permission.

11. Third-party services

You & Yours relies on third parties to operate, including our AI provider (Anthropic), our hosting and database provider (Supabase), the app marketplace (Apple), and optional analytics. Your use of the Service may also be subject to those providers' terms. We choose our providers carefully and, where personal data is involved, put appropriate data-processing terms in place, but we are not responsible for the independent acts of third parties.

12. Suspension and termination

13. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except for liability that cannot lawfully be excluded:

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as You & Yours evolves or the law changes. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know (for example, an in-app notice). Changes take effect when posted, unless stated otherwise. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, please stop using the Service and, if you wish, delete your account.

16. Governing law and disputes

[GOVERNING-LAW / DISPUTES] — These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and disputes will be handled in the courts of [JURISDICTION], except where mandatory local consumer-protection law gives you rights in your own country.
